Crop Planning in Synchronized Crop-Demand Scenarios: A Biobjective Optimization Formulation

Crop planning problems have been extensively studied from different perspectives (profit maximization, optimizing available water use, sustainability, etc.). In this paper, a new approach is proposed that considers forms of customer-producer relationship, involving long-term cooperation agreements where the product volumes are agreed, and demand guaranteed in advance. context, typical manufacturing production systems, crop must guarantee given level on specific dates, thus becoming deterministic nature. paper introduces lexicographic biobjective optimization that, addition to cost minimization, aims at minimizing risk not meeting agreed demands. The latter done by maximizing geographic dispersion crops so weather mitigated. A number experiments carried out test approach, showing high complexity solution opening door procedures for problem results interest type relationships food logistics chain.
